There are 19 classical mare bloodlines and some 'new' mare bloodlines derived from horses utilised for breeding in strictly controlled and selective studs. The mare lines that are in Australasia (or have been previously) as a June 2014 are noted below:

 

EUROPA

Through Trompeta X (1967) Lipica, imported by Geoff Adcock 1973

The originating mare line was a grey Kladruby mare Europa (1774)

Traditional names for this line are: Trompeta, Musica, Europa, Troja, Traga & Triglava.

There are no offspring of this mare line in Australasia.


FISTULA/STORNELLA

Through 536 Steaka IX (1970) Lipica, imported by Geoff Adcock 1973

The originating mare line was a mare called Stornella (1748) at Kopcany

Traditional names for this line are: Stornella, Stella, Steaka, Saffa, Sava & Sagana.

Australasian offspring are: Slava, Silvie, Sindy, Szuzie, Saturn, Saffa, Sydney, Sistina, Sarita, Steaka, Tisza, Tina, Sagana, Sava, Sienna, Superba & Stella, Styria, Sonata, Stornella


GIDRANE

Through 491 Gaeta VII (1967) Lipica, imported by Geoff Adock 1973

The originating mare line was an Arabian named Gidran (1841).

Traditional names for this line are: Gidrana, Gaetana, Gaeta, Garafolina & Galanta.

Australasian offspring are: Grace, Gaetana, Gidrane, Garafolina.


INCITATO IX-10

Through 4sz Mezohegyes (1780’s). (Bay) Szilvasvarad, imported by B & M Christiansen 1976

Examples of this mare line, to date, can only be found in Australia & New Zealand. Read more about this here

PRESCIANA 

Through Neapolitano XIX-2 (1967) Hungary, imported by B & M Christiansen 1976.

The originating mare line Presciana (1782) came from Kladruby Stud. This mare line can be found in 3 branches.

The B Branch: Bona, Bonavia, Bonadea, Bellafiglia.

The P Branch: Perla, Perletta, Primavera.

The R Branch: Roma, Romana

Australasian offspring are: Nemesis, Neapolitana, Tural, Trieste, Penny, Perletta, Bonadea.

SPADIGLIA

Through 2 mares imported to Australia:

528 Monteaura III (1969)

Lipica, Imported by Geoff Adcock 1973

The originating mare line came from the Karst are (Slovenia) with the mare Spadiglia born 1778.

Traditional names for this line are: Monteaura, Montenegra, Mora, Mirabella, Basilisca, Montebella, Moscovita, Montenegrina, Montona, Madera, Monterosa.

Australasian offspring are: Mara, Marta, Monterosa, Montenegra, Monteaura.

Conversano XX-17

Hungary, imported by B & M Christiansen 1976.

Australasian offspring are: Bonita, Bonnie, Bruke, Bekescaba, Gigi, Gemma, Mirabonna, Monza, Moscovita, Montuzza, Zsa Zsa, Montebella

 

PALLAVICINI LEPKE

Through Pluto XXIX-23 (1989) Hungary, imported by Georgina Beard 2003.

The originating mare was Nusi from stud Pusztazer.

Traditional names for this line are: Nusi, Dimar, Nagysam, Ladilom, Union, Lepke.

Australasian offspring are: Pomona, Pallina, Palmyra, Paloma.

 

DJEBRIN

Through KL Generale 321 (2012) Germany, imported by Simmone Kalanj 2013.

The originating mare was an Arabian named Generale Junior Balbona 1824.

Traditional names for this line are: Djebrin, Istria, Dubovina, Darinka, Distinta, Dalmatia.

Australasian offspring are: There are no offspring at present.
